Avaya Aura® Performance Center Mobile for Supervisors unshackles contact center supervisors from their desks. It allows supervisors to monitor queues, identifying queues in poor health, and enables supervisors to take corrective action while away from their desks. Supervisors can roam the contact center floor, go to meetings, be at lunch, and still monitor the health of their contact center. The corrective actions supervisors can take include emailing or instant messaging an agent, or updating skill assignments. The mobile user can easily identify which agents to contact by viewing agents by work state, such as those agents in an Auxiliary Work state.
Announcement Date: April 7, 2011
96X0 Series IP Deskphones: Price Change Notification (Global)
Re: Increase in Global Price List on Original 96X0 Series IP Deskphones

Over the past several months, Avaya has made significant announcements in the desktop and collaboration area including new models in the Avaya 96X1 Series line of IP Deskphones (9601, 9608, 9611G, 9621G and 9641G), delivering higher value and better productivity at competitive price points.

With the successful introduction of the new 96X1 phones and given the original models are reaching a mature point in their product lifecycle—Avaya will increase the price of the original 96X0 models in 2011. (See Table 1). Avaya will continue to sell and support the original 96X0 models for customers who now have these models deployed or are in the midst of a rollout. However, for future purchases and rollouts, all customers are encouraged to evaluate the new 96X1 series models. The new 96X1 series models retain a similar appearance, user experience and management structure, minimizing the impact for customers who may be upgrading and/or mixing original and new models.
Introduced in September, 2010, the new models of the Avaya 96X1 Series IP deskphones extend the capabilities of the 96X0 portfolio to include more color, integrated gigabit and touch screen models. The issue is limited to the 2420 sets as newer IP and SIP-based technologies have enhanced security that makes them difficult to counterfeit. Genuine 2420 sets are available for customers to purchase from authorized Avaya partners.

As with any product, if a customer has quality issues with any 2420 sets they should contact the company with which they have their service contract or, if no contract exists, contact Avaya. Please remind your customers to purchase genuine Avaya products from authorized Avaya channels.

Avaya products represented as new or unused and offered for resale by unauthorized resellers are Gray Market. These products are not warranted or supported by Avaya. Avaya further defines these products as used and not new because of product tampering, conversion, and original Avaya serial number removal.

Be an Educated Buyer!

If the price on that Avaya telephone set or circuit pack looks too good to be true, it probably is! If the price looks unusually low, you are likely dealing with gray market product. Gray market product is often:

• Tampered international versions that are not UL approved.

• Used product misrepresented as new.

• Stolen equipment.

• Equipment with the original Avaya serial number removed and replaced with a counterfeit number.

Avaya provides no manufacturer warranty or support for gray market products. These tampered and outdated products may result in service interruptions and system failures that could negatively impact your telecommunications.

Unauthorized resellers have not been granted a license to distribute or sublicense any of the Avaya proprietary products. Avaya software products are the proprietary intellectual property of Avaya and are protected under federal and state intellectual property laws including, for example, copyright, patent, trademark and trade secret laws. Since these unauthorized resellers have no contractual relationship with Avaya regarding our products or services, they can not lawfully sell, install, distribute or maintain Avaya products”.

Avaya policy is not to support, install, certify, maintain, warrant or place under Avaya Service Agreements known gray market product.

Avaya provides warning labels on packaging similar to the following:

If this product or component has been purchased from an unauthorized source, Avaya can not guarantee its authenticity, provide certification or include it in an Avaya maintenance contract. If such a product causes a system failure, the failure will not be covered by an Avaya warranty or an existing Avaya maintenance contract.

How can I be assured I am buying Avaya Authorized product?

Always purchase Avaya products from an authorized member of the Avaya BusinessPartner program to assure you are receiving new equipment fully supported by the manufacturer.packetbasehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12192039392353023810noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788983591570970423.post-56605428281752433592011-01-04T11:58:00.000-08:002011-01-04T11:58:26.788-08:00How to shutdown and restart your Avaya S8300 ServerServer Shutdown Operations:
Depending upon the circumstances, different server shutdown operations may be required:

If you are replacing an active S8300 Media Server, a functional but inactive LSP, or a functional hard drive, you can use the Web interface to shut down the server:

Go to the Avaya CM System Management Interface webpage:

https://YOUR-AVAYA-CM-IP-ADDRESS/cgi-bin/common/login/webLogin

Under Server, click Shutdown This Server.

On the Shutdown This Server screen, system restart checkboxes include:

Delayed (default option) - the system waits for processes to close files and other cleanup activities to finish before the server is shut down

Immediate - the system does not wait for processes to terminate normally before it shuts the server down

Accept the default option.

Leave the checkbox After Shutdown, Restart System unchecked.

Customers have expressed a desire to participate in maintaining their equipment and Avaya Authorized Partners have requested maintenance capabilities to service their end user customers.

Use of the Maintenance Software Permissions (MSPs), Avaya’s proprietary Right-to-Use maintenance software, gives the customer the maintenance capabilities they need to respond to some alarms, and aids in trouble isolation procedures. Authorized Partners, through the use of the DADMIN login, can maintain their customer's switches and respond to more of their customers’ troubles.

For all Definity and Communication Manager Systems CM4.0 and earlier MSPs can only be activated with purchase of a Service Agreement. As Avaya transitions to a more software centric strategy, MSPs will be provided with the purchase and license activation on Communication Manager 5.0 and subsequent releases. This strategy change will provide customers with more flexibility in maintaining their systems. Although this change makes it easier for the customer to utilize MSPs, they still remain Avaya’s proprietary Right-to-Use software. This means, MSPs are not transferable or assignable, are governed by all license and Right-to Use language, and cannot be utilized by an Unauthorized Service Provider or Third Party. Avaya reserves the right to audit these conditions at any time as outlined in the product and customer agreements.

Avaya can add more value to the Service Agreement by enhancing the customer level password with MSPs for all Definity and Communication Manager Systems CM4.0 and earlier.. During the Warranty period, MSPs can be licensed if there is a pending Service Agreement. For CM5.0 and subsequent releases MSPs are available with the purchase and license of the software and can be activated by the customer or BusinessPartner with activation of the customer license file.

Next see how the new Avaya T&M policy may affect you: http://packetbase.blogspot.com/2010/05/avaya-t-policy-change-starting-712010.html packetbasehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12192039392353023810noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788983591570970423.post-87707029069969970822010-05-19T22:24:00.000-07:002010-05-19T22:51:59.021-07:00Avaya T&M Policy Change starting 7/1/2010Effective July 1, 2010, customers, Partners and Partner customers who do not have a contractual relationship with Avaya on a product requiring support, will no longer have access to Per Incident Technical Support Services.

Avaya Global Support Services is updating the existing Maintenance Per Incident (Time & Materials) policies. Avaya will continue to provide T/M support to Avaya Maintenance Agreement customers, Partners and Partner customers who have a minimum Avaya Maintenance contract covering the product requiring support. In addition Per Incident services such as on-site support and out-of-hours support will be available to Avaya Maintenance customers and Partner customers with a minimum Avaya contractual relationship for the product requiring support.

With that said, you have a couple options to consider for support:

Leverage the experience and expertise of an authorized Avaya BusinessPartner to help you get through your current support issues. More info at: http://www.avayaurgentsupport.com/.

Learn what the options are and your minimum requirements to become current on Avaya Maintenance at: http://www.avayamaintenance.com/.

Remember, without any level of Avaya Maintenance agreement in place, you will no longer be able to get any type of support from Avaya directly. This also means third party service organizations will no longer have access to critical support capabilities on your systems called MSP (maintenance software permissions) required to properly maintain Avaya solutions.

Although these changes may be an adjustment for some legacy Avaya customers, it is really the "norm" when compared to the rest of the industry. Avaya has delayed these types of policies to ease customers through.packetbasehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12192039392353023810noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788983591570970423.post-73592798955491904442010-05-13T11:53:00.001-07:002010-05-13T11:53:04.854-07:00Avaya UC for Microsoft by PacketBaseCheck out this SlideShare Presentation on Avaya & Microsoft Best of Breed Unified Communications:
Avaya UC for Microsoft by PacketBase
View more presentations from PacketBase, Inc..

packetbasehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12192039392353023810noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788983591570970423.post-36846940778912318212010-05-13T10:56:00.001-07:002010-05-13T10:56:16.192-07:00Avaya Meeting Exchange By PacketBaseCheck out this SlideShare Presentation on Avaya Meeting Exchange:
Avaya Meeting Exchange By PacketBase
View more presentations from PacketBase, Inc..

packetbasehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12192039392353023810noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4788983591570970423.post-39342027592002981772010-03-25T09:03:00.000-07:002010-03-25T09:03:42.173-07:00How scalable is the Avaya G450 Gateway? The Avaya G450 Media Gateway consists of a 3U high, 19” rack mountable chassis with field- removable Supervisor Main Board Module, Power Supplies, Fan Tray, DSP resources and memory.
